6 days of guided trekking between Supramonte and sea, with hotel return.
Wild nature with no technical sections!

An adventure in the heart of Supramonte of Baunei, between panoramic trails and wild beaches, with the comfort of hotel accommodation after each stage.

In the Footsteps of the Selvaggio Blu

is a route designed for hikers who want to enjoy the beauty of Supramonte of Baunei along a simpler and less technical path, intersecting and retracing day by day the route of the most renowned itinerary, the Selvaggio Blu.

The Baunei coast, where the Sardinian Supramonte meets the Mediterranean, is one of the most spectacular and wild coasts that Mare Nostrum can offer.

In 6 days of trekking, accompanied by our exclusively local guides, following ancient trails and mule tracks, we can visit this enchanting place, where the pleasant efforts of walking will find refreshment with some beach relaxation.

Evening return to the designated accommodation is planned.

Upon request, we can customize the stages, including one or more nights in a tent at a sheepfold.

Program in the Footsteps of the Selvaggio Blu

1DAY 1
ARRIVAL
Group arrival in Baunei or Santa Maria Navarrese (depending on the location of the accommodation you have chosen), introductions and travel briefing.
2DAY 2
Stage 1 - Us Piggius to Cala Fenile to Pedra Longa (7 km, +100m/-700m)
The route follows the first stage of the Selvaggio Blu in reverse. The day unfolds around Mount Giradili, the second-highest sea cliff in Europe at 757 metres above sea level. Starting from the Ovile di Us Piggius, the trail descends along the Giradili ledge until it reaches Fenile beach, where there is time for a swim. The ascent to the summit takes place via the passage at Forrola, with a stop for a swim at Cala Fenile. We then gain elevation again and, along an easy trail, reach the majestic spire of Pedra Longa.
3DAY 3
Stage 2 – from Irbiddossili to Portu Porru ’e Campu – 5 km – +0 / -610

This stage will be mostly downhill, though not without a few short ascents, as the finish point is at Capo di Monte Santu, with a total descent of about 610 metres.
Following the ridge that runs alongside the majestic Baccu Maore, with the sea always in front of us, we descend as far as Portu Cuau, not before passing the shepherds’ huts of Eltiera and Pressor de ’rutta.
We then continue to Portu Porru ’e Campu, where we can stop for a few hours for lunch and a swim, while waiting for the dinghy that will take us back to Santa Maria Navarrese.
4DAY 4
Stage 3 – Su Porteddu, Salinas, Goloritzè loop – 10.5 km – +650 / -650
Following trails and ancient mule tracks, we head towards the sea, reaching after 4 km one of the most beautiful views in the Mediterranean: Punta Salinas.
From its elevation of 490 metres, in addition to the sweeping view over the entire Gulf of Orosei, at our feet we will find the pinnacles rising above Cala Goloritzè, another of Sardinia’s natural monuments.
We then descend steeply to the beach for a refreshing swim, before climbing back up to Su Porteddu along the tourist trail.
5DAY 5
Stage 4 – from Golgo – Ferir d’abba to Cala Mariolu – 6.5 km – +180 / -560

Following trails and mule tracks, we climb up to Serra Maore, from where the view of the sea below will accompany us all the way to the end.
The arch known as S’arcada Manna marks the entrance to the Ispuligedenie forest; descending along its switchbacks, we reach Mariolu beach, not before admiring it from above.
Return by dinghy to the port of Santa Maria Navarrese, passing in front of Cala Goloritzè.
6DAY 6
Stage 5 – from Ololbissi to Cala Sisine via Serra Ovra – 10 km – +350 / -630
We climb along the Serra Ovra ridge, from which we can admire the Baunei coast to the east and, to the west, the characteristic baccus, the deep ravines that cut through the Supramonte of Baunei. Once at the summit, we will be able to see one of the typical ancient shepherds’ huts, architectural landmarks that represent a humble age-old culture which learned to adapt to a rugged landscape. The second part of the route is mostly downhill. Following a long series of switchbacks, we descend to the Sisine codula, the main valley floor, and by following it we reach the beach of the same name. Stop for a swim, then return by dinghy to Santa Maria Navarrese.
7DAY 7
Stage 6 – from Cala Sisine to Cala Luna – 10 km – +630 / -630
This stage unfolds between the two beaches at the northern end of the Baunei area. Approach by dinghy to Sisine beach, where we take an old mule track and gain elevation heading north. A scenic route leads to Elune beach, where, besides the wide-open views, we will be able to admire the Lupiru rock arch and the largest ancient shepherds’ huts in the Baunei area.
On arrival, there will be a stop at the beach, where our dinghy will then be waiting to take us back to the port of Santa Maria Navarrese.
